Recipe of the Month: October 2010

Build-your-own Bruschetta
This month host is Silestone Sierra Madre

Bruschetta (‘brues-ketta’) is a wonderful appetizer with great colors and flavors that most people like. We had this the other day at Contorno’s showroom open house and we enjoyed the build-it-yourself version. Easy and quick to put together for your guests and family gatherings.

Build-your-Own Bruschetta

Ingredients

6 ripe Roma tomatoes, finely chopped
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
10-12 fresh basil leaves, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 loaf of french bread, sliced
1 clove of garlic, sliced in half

Combine tomatoes, oil, vinegar, basil, salt and pepper. Toast the french bread slices slightly in the oven. Rub each slice with a garlic half. Arrange the bread in a serving platter and place the tomato topping in a bowl. That’s it. So simple.
